Privacy Policy
Last updated September 29, 2026
This policy explains how Dr. Dondi M. Day, based in the United States, handles information associated with dondimday.com. It covers this website, inquiries made through its contact form, and optional Cedar Shoals and Bogue Banks Chronicles release emails sent under the pen name Mike Anthony.
Information you choose to share
The contact form asks for your name, email address, inquiry type, and message. You may also provide an organization. Selecting the form's button opens a prefilled draft in your own email application; the website does not send or store the form submission on its server. I receive these details only if you choose to send that email.
Your email provider handles the message you send under its own privacy practices. Please do not include sensitive information in a first inquiry.
If you choose to request Cedar Shoals release updates, you provide your email address and explicitly agree to receive an email for each of the upcoming books Surge, Signed, and Privilege. A separate Bogue Banks Chronicles signup covers The Mirador Season, The Severed Coast, and The Returning Shore. You must confirm each list through a link sent to your inbox before its release announcements are sent. Signing up for one series does not subscribe you to the other. No mailing consent is inferred from a contact inquiry.
Technical information and third-party services
The website is hosted through Replit. It may process technical request information such as your IP address, browser or device information, pages requested, and request times to deliver and protect the site. Replit may also measure page visits through hosting-provided analytics.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those files, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details. If you send an inquiry, the message is delivered to a Microsoft Outlook/Hotmail mailbox, and your own email provider also processes the message. Release confirmation and announcement emails are delivered using Resend, which processes your email address and email delivery information to send those messages.
To understand whether release signup is working, the site also records custom analytics events for requests, confirmations, and unsubscribes, including whether an action succeeded and the book selected for a signup request. These custom events do not include the email address or private confirmation and unsubscribe tokens. Hosting-provided page-view analytics may separately receive the URL visited, so email links containing a private code should be treated as private.
How information is used
I use messages you send to respond to your request and manage related correspondence. Technical information may be used by the hosting provider to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the site. If you opt in and confirm, your address is used only for the three listed releases in the series you chose, not for a general newsletter or unrelated promotions. Readers who confirm after an announcement begins receive only later announcements.
The website stores your email address, confirmation and unsubscribe status, and which release notices were sent in its database. Confirmation and unsubscribe links use random tokens; unsubscribe tokens are encrypted in storage. The author can send an announcement only through a short-lived link delivered to the author's email address.
Cookies and tracking
The website application does not add advertising pixels. Replit's hosting service may use cookies or similar technology to route, operate, protect, and measure visits to the site; a GAESA cookie has been observed in the site preview. You can limit cookies in your browser settings, although some site functions may be affected.
The author release-control page temporarily stores a short-lived access link in the browser session so the author can resume sending batches.
Sharing and external links
Information may be processed by the service providers described above as needed to operate the website and handle correspondence. I do not sell information submitted through this site. Information may also be disclosed if required by law.
Links to Amazon, Audible, and other external sites take you away from dondimday.com. Those sites have their own privacy practices; this policy does not cover them.
Retention and security
If you send an email, I may keep the correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain relevant records, or meet applicable legal obligations. Mailing records are kept while the three releases are active and afterward as needed to honor opt-outs, prevent duplicate notices, and document consent. You can ask for your records to be removed, subject to legal record-keeping needs. Hosting providers and Resend may retain technical delivery records under their own policies.
Reasonable care is taken with correspondence, but no method of email transmission or internet storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your choices and children’s privacy
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of correspondence and mailing information you have provided, subject to applicable law and any record-keeping obligations. You can choose not to email the site. Every release email includes an unsubscribe link; using it stops future release emails for that series without changing a separate subscription to the other series. You can also contact me directly to opt out or make a privacy request.
The site does not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information, please contact me so it can be reviewed and, where appropriate, removed.
Changes to this policy
This policy may change as the website or its services change. The date at the top of this page will be updated when the policy is revised.
